Mercy is seeking a Patient Access Representative to be the first contact for patients, ensuring compassionate service and accurate data capture. The role spans scheduling, registration, verification of benefits, pre-certification, and financial clearance.

The position is part-time in the Mercy Clinic HWY 102 location, requiring 1-3 years of clerical experience, knowledge of medical terminology, and strong communication.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years clerical and customer service experience preferred.
• Experience with medical terminology and insurance plans preferred.
• High School diploma required; some college helpful.
• Excellent oral and written communication; telephone etiquette.
• Strong organizational skills; attention to detail.
• Proficient with computer systems; 10-key calculator skills.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate patient entrance into Mercy facilities, including scheduling and registration.
• Handle benefit verification, pre-certification and financial clearance.
• Collect pre-visit payments and document financial conversations.
• Maintain accurate patient data and understand insurance guidelines.
• Communicate financial responsibility and payment options to patients.
