Job summary

Mercy is seeking a Patient Access Representative to greet patients, verify benefits, schedule and register visits, and secure pre-certification and financial clearance. The successful candidate will have 1–3 years of clerical/customer service experience, a high school diploma, and familiarity with medical terminology.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years clerical and customer service experience preferred.
• Experience with medical terminology and insurance plans preferred.
• High School diploma required; some college helpful.

Responsibilities

• Schedule, register, verify benefits, pre-certification, and financial clearance for patients.
• Ensure accurate patient data is captured and entered into the record.
• Maintain knowledge of insurance carriers, Medicare guidelines and compliance requirements.
• Represent Mercy with exemplary customer service and professionalism.
