Job summary

Children's Healthcare of Atlanta is seeking a Patient Access Clerk (PRN) to support registration, insurance verification, scheduling, and billing across departments. You will engage with patients, families, physicians, and staff to obtain accurate information and ensure smooth access to care.

This role requires one year of healthcare or related clerical experience, a high school diploma, and flexible availability including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• 1 year of healthcare clerical, accounting, or customer service experience.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent may be considered in lieu of experience.
• Experience with patient registration systems and insurance verification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Communicates with patients, families, physicians, and insurance companies to obtain information and verify insurance.
• Interviews patients to obtain demographic and financial information per regulatory requirements.
• Enters data for registration, billing, and patient tracking; supports scheduling and charge capture.
• Verifies insurance coverage and authorizations if applicable.
• Explains regulatory financial requirements and collects deposits as needed.
• Supports patient accounting by producing clean claims and reducing denials.
• Schedules appointments and coordinates provider visits and procedures.
