Job summary

Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta is seeking a Patient Access representative to verify insurance, register patients, and support billing processes. You will collaborate with physicians, families, and staff to ensure accurate demographic information and timely payments.

Responsibilities include data entry, scheduling, and maintaining patient confidentiality while delivering excellent customer service and multitasking across departments.

Qualifications

• Understanding of medical terminology.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to perform arithmetic and basic data entry accurately.

Responsibilities

• Communicates with patients, families, physicians, and insurance companies to obtain information and verify insurance for patient care and billing.
• Interviews patients and families to collect demographic and financial information and ensures forms are completed as required by law.
• Enters data into registration, billing, and tracking systems to minimize patient wait times and ensure accuracy.
• Verifies insurance coverage and authorizations when applicable.
• Explains financial requirements and collects deposits or deductibles as needed, and reschedules appointments if required.
• Assists with daily office operations, scheduling, and chart maintenance to support efficient workflows.
• Maintains patient confidentiality and handles release of information as required.
• Coordinates with multiple departments and staff to ensure coverage and continuity of service.
