Job summary

Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta is seeking a Patient Access representative to handle registration, insurance verification, and billing support across clinics.

You will verify demographics, schedule appointments, and communicate clearly with patients, families, physicians, and payors, including handling deposits and authorizations.

This role requires at least 1 year in healthcare or related clerical work; a Bachelor’s degree or CPAR/CHAA is preferred; willingness to work flexible shifts.

Qualifications

• 1 year of healthcare or related clerical, accounting, or customer service experience.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education may be considered in lieu of experience.
• CPAR or CHAA certification preferred.
• Experience with patient registration and Medicaid portals.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Communicates with patients, families, physicians, clinical staff, and insurance companies to obtain information and insurance verification to ensure quality patient care and payment of hospital accounts.
• Interviews patients and families to obtain complete and accurate demographic and financial information and ensures forms are completed.
• Enters data into system for registration, billing, patient tracking, charge capture, and reconciliation.
• Verifies insurance coverage and collects deposits or deductibles as required.
• Assists with scheduling, appointments, and related front-office duties while providing customer service.
