Job summary

Qualifications

• 1 year of healthcare or related clerical, accounting, or customer service experience; degree may substitute.

Responsibilities

• Communicates with patients, families, physicians, clinical staff, and insurance companies to obtain information and insurance verification.
• Interviews patients and families to collect demographic and financial information per regulations.
• Enters data for registration, billing, patient tracking, charge capture, and reconciliation.
• Verifies insurance coverage and authorizations when applicable.
• Explains financial requirements to patients and collects deposits or deductibles as needed.
• Supports Patient Accounting by ensuring accurate data for clean claims and timely payments.
• Communicates wait times and updates scheduling tools accordingly.
• Prepares and maintains medical records and confidential patient information.
• Coordinates scheduling and referrals with physician offices.
• Attends department meetings and supports staff workflow and development.
