Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health (BILH) is seeking a Patient Access Representative to support fast-paced registration and scheduling operations. You will welcome patients, collect demographics and insurance data, and guide them through the check-in process, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.

In this role, you will handle co-payments, verify eligibility, coordinate with clinical departments, and maintain a positive patient experience.

Qualifications

• Education: high school degree or equivalent; associate degree preferred.
• 1–3 years of related work experience and proficiency with computer systems.
• Strong typing skills and knowledge of medical terminology are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Registers patients presenting for visits and explains the process.
• Processes co-payments, co-insurance, deductibles, and balances due.
• Completes Medicare Secondary Payer Questionnaire and adjusts coverage.
• Instructs patients and obtains signatures on consent forms and other documents.
• Counsels patients regarding non-covered services and ABNs.
• Monitors waiting area for smooth registration flow and patient experience.
• Responds to patient concerns and potential safety issues; protects confidentiality.
• Assures neat registration desk and secured patient information.
