Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health seeks a Patient Access Representative to welcome patients and ensure accurate registration, scheduling, and pre-registration processes. You will obtain and verify patient demographic and financial information, assist with co-pays, co-insurance, and ABNs when needed, and maintain confidentiality in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Education: High School diploma or GED; Associate's degree preferred.
• 1-3 years related work experience; fast-paced, multi-task environment.
• Call center and/or telephone customer service experience.
• Strong typing skills, 40+ wpm; knowledge of medical terminology.
• Bilingual written and verbal communication skills; familiarity with EHR.

Responsibilities

• Registers patients, explains the registration process and answers questions.
• Processes co-payments, co-insurance, deductibles, and balances due; safeguards cash.
• Completes Medicare Secondary Payer Questionnaire and adjusts coverage.
• Instructs patients on signatures for forms; scans and records documents.
• Counsels on non-covered services; handles ABNs, consents and waivers.
• Manages scheduling: prioritizes, schedules, reschedules, and cancels appointments.
• Maintains confidential patient information and ensures smooth registration flow.

Skills

Strong typing 40+ wpm
