Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking a Patient Access Representative to ensure a smooth patient registration and scheduling flow at our facility. The role emphasizes accurate data capture, handling payments, and safeguarding patient information in a fast-paced environment.

The incumbent will perform registrations, pre-visit steps, insurance checks, and coordinate with clinical departments while maintaining patient confidentiality and first-contact resolution when possible.

Qualifications

• High school degree or equivalent required; associate’s degree preferred.
• 1-3 years related work experience; computer systems experience including web-based applications and MS Office.
• Able to work in a fast-paced, multi-task environment and process electronic information accurately.

Responsibilities

• Registers patients presenting for visits and explains the registration process.
• Handles patient co-payments, co-insurance, deductibles, and balances due; safegards cash and reconciles daily.

Skills

Typing 40+wpm

Bilingual (written and verbal)

Medical terminology knowledge

Call center experience

Education

High school degree or equivalent

Associate’s degree preferred
