Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health is hiring a Patient Access Representative to join the System Services team. The role focuses on efficient and welcoming patient registration, scheduling, and addressing questions across in-person, telephonic, and electronic channels.

The position supports high-quality patient experiences and ensures accurate demographic and financial data for reimbursement, with exposure to the EHR system and ongoing training.

Qualifications

• Education: High school degree or equivalent; Associate’s degree preferred.
• 1-3 years related work experience with computer systems and MS Office applications.
• Able to work in fast-paced, multi-task environment and process electronic information accurately.

Responsibilities

• Registers patients for visits and explains the registration process to patients.
• Processes payments (co-pays, co-insurance, deductibles) and reconciles cash drawer daily.
• Completes Medicare Secondary Payer Questionnaire and adjusts coverage as needed.
• Obtains signatures on consent forms and scans records into the system.
• Schedules, reschedules, and cancels patient appointments while maintaining data accuracy.
• Maintains confidentiality and secure handling of patient information.
