Job summary

FMOL Health is seeking a Patient Access Representative 1 to accurately register inpatients, outpatients, and ER patients in the EMR. The role involves verifying insurance, collecting co-pays, and balancing cash while ensuring a best-in-class patient experience.

The PAR1 will communicate with patients, families, physicians, nurses, and insurance companies, adhering to federal and state regulations related to acute-care registration.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• At least 1 year of customer service experience or related certification.
• Knowledge of insurance verification and patient financial responsibilities.
• Familiarity with EMR and registration processes.

Responsibilities

• Register patients accurately in the EMR and verify insurance information.
• Obtain patient demographics, insurance details, and guarantor information.
• Collect co-pays, deductibles, and balances; balance cash drawers.
• Explain forms to patients and obtain signatures on required documents.
• Document each encounter in account notes for cross-functional communication.
• Coordinate with physicians and insurance for authorizations when needed.
