Boston Medical Center is seeking a Part Time Patient Access Coordinator in Brockton, MA. This role ensures complete and accurate surgical and procedural patient registration and billing information, supporting clinical staff, and functioning in a central treatment area environment.

You will perform full registration, verify demographics, insurance, and visit-specific information, and help with throughput in a fast-paced hospital setting while maintaining high customer service standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 0-2 years of registration experience or 3 years of customer service experience.
• Strong customer service, data entry and communication skills.
• Ability to type at least 40 words per minute.

Responsibilities

• Deliver outstanding customer service to internal and external customers.
• Maintain data integrity of patient demographics, insurance and admission information.
• Verify patient insurance and apply payer guidelines to ensure effective reimbursement.
• Collect insurance copays from patients.
• Collaborate with staff to ensure a positive patient experience.
• Cover in Admitting or Emergency Department as directed by the Patient Access Team Coordinator.
• Attend departmental meetings and participate in holiday coverage as needed.
• Document accurate information on patient accounts to ensure efficient workflow.
