Job summary

St. Luke's University Health Network is seeking a Patient Access Representative to manage the full patient registration process in outpatient and Emergency Department settings.

The role requires accurate data entry, insurance verification, and cash handling while coordinating with multiple departments to ensure a seamless patient experience. Responsibilities include greeting patients, guiding them through registrations, and promoting MyChart self-service.

Qualifications

• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills required.
• General computer experience and ability to type fluently, accurately, and quickly required.
• Insurance background preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
• Previous medical administrative experience and/or health care related education preferred.

Responsibilities

• Identify and validate patients in the hospital information system to ensure accurate electronic medical records.
• Coordinate with SLPG practices, clinical/diagnostic departments, and revenue cycle teams to support patient experience and clean claims.
• Handle patient registration pre-reg and post-reg tasks: demographics, emergency contact, diagnoses, insurance verification, and cash collections.
• Cross-train in all areas of location or region; ED and outpatient sites to ensure coverage.
• Greet patients and visitors, enforce visitor policy, and provide courteous service.
• Promote MyChart and patient self-service to enhance patient engagement and the overall visit experience.
