Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health (BILH) is seeking a Patient Access Clerk for our outpatient unit in Boston. You will serve as the first point of contact for patients and visitors, delivering courteous service and clear information to support efficient care delivery.

Responsibilities include registering patients, verifying demographics and insurance, collecting co-pays, and coordinating with providers and staff to maintain smooth patient flow.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required; Associate's degree preferred.
• 0-1 years related work experience required.
• Basic familiarity with computers; ability to navigate web-based applications.

Responsibilities

• Communicates with patients, staff and public by phone and in person; provides accurate information and directions.
• Takes complete and accurate information, prepares schedules and medical records, protects patient confidentiality.
• Performs check in/registration and verifies demographics and insurance pre-certifications; collects co-payments.
• Monitors patient flow and acts as liaison to ensure smooth service delivery.
• Processes check out and schedules follow-ups, provides educational materials and enters billing tickets.
