Inova Shared Services - Ashburn seeks a dedicated Patient Access Associate 2 to join our team on a full-time, Monday-Friday schedule. You will admit and schedule patients, verify insurance coverage, and provide financial counseling under Inova Health System's Service Excellence standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum education: High School Diploma or GED.
• Healthcare access experience or revenue cycle experience preferred.
• Bachelor's degree acceptable in lieu of experience.

Responsibilities

• Admit/schedule patients.
• Verify insurance coverage and determine payment responsibilities.
• Provide financial counseling to patients about costs and charges.
• Communicate scheduling changes to patients, staff, physicians, and representatives.
• Explain insurance benefits and patient liability clearly.
• Identify payroll authorization and referral requirements to patients.
• Report safety hazards and act to protect patients and guests when needed.
• Maintain accurate workflow and reduce repetitive errors through process improvements.
