Job summary

MedStar Health’s Washington Hospital Center is seeking a Customer Care Coordinator to welcome callers at the MedStar Care Connection Contact Center. This role schedules patient appointments, records information, and facilitates communication between patients and practice staff, while upholding service standards.

The ideal candidate will handle high call volumes with empathy, maintain accurate registrations, and support multiple subspecialties across locations.

Qualifications

• Able to work in a high-volume, fast-paced environment with multiple departments and staff.
• Experience in scheduling appointments and coordinating with physicians or subspecialties preferred.
• Strong communication skills and empathy when interacting with patients and families.

Responsibilities

• Schedule patient appointments for specified practice groups and locations.
• Assist and troubleshoot during the scheduling process and physician selection.
• Process calls efficiently and manage peak call volumes.
• Cross-sell locations or physicians as per protocol.
• Maintain knowledge of scheduling protocols and EMR systems.
• Prepare and distribute weekly activity reports.
