Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• 1-2 years of customer service experience is required.
• 1-2 years of patient registration experience preferred.
• 1-2 years of hospital experience or healthcare setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Contributes to the achievement of department goals and adheres to policies, procedures, and safety standards.
• Receives and answers telephone calls; schedules, reschedules, and confirms patient appointments.
• Creates encounters and obtains patient information for requested services as directed by the clinical department and location of services.
• Greets patients and reviews information upon arrival.
• Collects and verifies patient demographics and insurance information.
• Verifies insurance eligibility via EHR, telephone, or internet sources.
• Informs patients of payment options including payment plans and financial assistance programs.
• Requests and communicates payment requirements for co-pays and deductibles.
• Adheres to arm banding and patient identifiers procedures.
• Attends required system Patient Access meetings.
