St Mary's Hospital is seeking a Patient Access Associate I to be the first point of contact for patients, guests, and families, delivering exceptional service while handling registrations and demographics in designated systems.

The role emphasizes verifying eligibility, collecting information, explaining payment options, and adhering to HIPAA regulations in a fast-paced hospital environment.

Competenze

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1–2 years Customer service experience required.
• 1–2 years Patient registration experience preferred.
• 1–2 years Hospital experience or healthcare setting preferred.

• Contributes to achieving department goals and adheres to policies, procedures, quality and safety standards.
• Answers telephone calls, schedules, reschedules and confirms patient appointments.
• Creates encounters and collects patient information for requested services.
• Greets patients and reviews information at arrival.
• Collects and verifies patient demographics and insurance information.
• Verifies insurance eligibility via EHR, phone or internet.
• Explains payment options including plans, financial assistance and compassionate care programs.
• Communicates required payment details for co-pays and deductibles.
• Follows HIPAA regulations and patient identification procedures.
• Attends system Patient Access meetings.
