Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Diploma program post-high school training preferred in medical/administrative fields.

Responsibilities

• Conducts patient interview to collect accurate financial, biographic and demographic information for patient visits.
• Explains financial requirements to the patient and collects deposits or deductibles; explains insurance coverages and requirements for precertification/preauthorization.
• Collects and reviews registrations to ensure accurate financial and demographic information has been obtained and properly entered into appropriate information systems.
• Schedules patient appointments including referrals, pre-authorization forms, test instructions and benefit verification.
• Performs check-in/check-out duties; processes payments via kiosk or cash/receipts.
• Reviews pre-arrival and in-basket messages and other work queues as assigned.
• Reconciles daily cash and verified account balances; handles end-of-day batch control.
• Researches billing questions with billing service.
• Supports process flow improvements and provides feedback to Supervisor.
• Assists with service recovery.
• Must have the ability to travel and work at other medical practices as needed.
