Responsibilities

• Check in and register patients; verify demographics and insurance; collect co-pays.
• Explain insurance basics and refer to Financial Advocates when needed.
• Ensure HIPAA compliance and protect patient confidentiality.
• Enforce required forms and notices to stay compliant with EMTALA and related rules.
• Schedule appointments and communicate test prep, arrivals, and guidelines.
• Provide welcoming service; assist with transportation, directions, and interpreter services.
• Monitor EHR work queues and follow department processes.
