Job summary

Illinois Bone and Joint Institute (IBJI) is seeking a Patient Access Coordinator I to manage day-to-day call center activities, ensuring efficient operations and delivering high-quality customer service to all callers. The role requires coordinating appointments, updating patient information, and maintaining knowledge of physician schedules across IBJI locations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum one year experience in customer service.
• EHR experience with Epic preferred.

Responsibilities

• Place, receive and route a high volume of calls through the switchboard.
• Greet callers in a compassionate, congenial and professional manner.
• Assist patients and family members, answer questions and provide accurate information.
• Relays messages or transfers calls to appropriate staff.
• Assist callers in scheduling appointments according to provider protocols.
• Update patients' insurance and demographic information.
• Maintain knowledge of physicians’ specialties and scheduling preferences.
