Job summary

Illinois Bone and Joint Institute, LLC is seeking a Part-time Patient Access Coordinator I to manage day-to-day call center activities and deliver high-quality customer service to patients and families. The role supports scheduling, insurance verification, and data updates across providers.

The position requires 20–24 hours per week, offer a flexible office environment, and interaction with physicians, staff, and patients in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum one year experience in customer service role (medical office experience is a plus).
• EHR experience with Epic preferred.
• Possess outstanding customer service skills and be detail oriented.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and Windows-based applications.
• Clear speaking voice and professional written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Handle a high volume of calls via switchboard.
• Greet callers professionally and provide accurate information.
• Assist patients and families, answer questions and relay messages.
• Schedule appointments and coordinate with providers.
• Update insurance and demographic information in the system.
• Follow insurance protocols to ensure coverage.
• Maintain knowledge of physicians’ specialties and scheduling preferences.
• Escalate complaints to appropriate supervisor as needed.
