Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking a Patient Access Associate to direct patient access through a busy call center, answering and triaging calls, and scheduling appointments with attention to patient needs and provider availability.

You will verify demographics, obtain referrals, and document payer information while ensuring accurate records and timely responses to patient inquiries in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required; Associate's degree preferred.
• 1-3 years related work experience required.
• Experience with computer systems and Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint or Access).

Responsibilities

• Answers, screens and processes a high volume of calls in a professional manner using scripts and guidelines for triaging. Determines appointment type, provider and urgency.
• Uses scheduling system to schedule appointments; verifies and updates demographics; obtains referrals and documents payer information.
• Informs patients of visit preparation and required documents for tests and procedures.
• Coordinates data sets and availability for efficient scheduling of visits, tests and procedures; resolves scheduling issues with the manager.
• Records messages for providers and triage urgent requests; responds to information requests within scope.
