Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking a Patient Access Representative to ensure a smooth, welcoming registration experience. You will collect patient demographics and financial information, process co-pays, and support scheduling and insurance verification.

Ideal candidates have 1–3 years of patient-facing experience, strong data-entry skills, and familiarity with EHR systems. Bilingual abilities and MS Office proficiency are preferred.

Qualifications

• Education: High school degree or equivalent; associate's degree preferred.
• Experience: 1–3 years related work experience in healthcare or customer service.
• Experience with computer systems and some Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, or Access).
• Skills: fast-paced multitasking and accurate data processing.
• Preferred: bilingual written and verbal communication; familiarity with EHR software.

Responsibilities

• Registers patients for visits and explains the registration process.
• Processes co-payments, co-insurance, deductibles, and balances due; safeguards cash and reconciles cash drawer.
• Completes Medicare Secondary Payer Questionnaire and adjusts coverage accordingly.
• Obtains signatures on consent and financial forms; scans and records documents.
• Counsels patients on non-covered services and ABNs; ensures confidentiality and security.
