Job summary

UCI Health, a leading academic health system in California, seeks a front desk receptionist for ambulatory clinics. You will be the first point of contact for patients, handling clerical tasks, data entry, and insurance verification to ensure smooth registration and scheduling processes.

The role requires excellent customer service, strong communication, and the ability to work weekends/holidays. Training on clinic systems and collaboration with care teams will be provided to support patient

Qualifications

• Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties.
• Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job.
• Must be able to work weekends/holidays.
• Demonstrated experience using office equipment such as a printer, copier, fax, scanner.
• Demonstrated experience using multi-line telephone system.
• Demonstrated experience using a computer, including data entry and retrieval.
• Demonstrated effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work variable shifts including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to make simple calculations and perform simple math.
• Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System
• Ability to read, write and speak English

Responsibilities

• Serve as first contact for patients in the ambulatory clinics.
• Perform general clerical and reception duties.
• Enter patient data into registration system; verify insurance and/or third party coverage.
• Schedule, confirm, and cancel patient appointments.
