Job summary

UCI Health in Costa Mesa, CA, is seeking an outpatient clinic front desk staff member to handle patient check-in, data entry, and insurance verification. This role requires strong customer service and accurate data handling in a fast-paced environment.

You will schedule, confirm, and cancel appointments, and support the registration process while working variable shifts. English proficiency and excellent communication are essential for patient interactions.

Qualifications

• Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties.
• Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job.
• Must be able to work weekends/holidays.
• Demonstrated experience using office equipment such as a printer, copier, fax, scanner.
• Demonstrated experience using multi-line telephone system.
• Demonstrated experience using a computer, including data entry and retrieval.
• Demonstrated effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work variable shifts including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to work evenings, weekends and holidays as necessary.
• Ability to make simple calculations and perform simple math.
• Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System.
• Ability to effectively read, write and speak English.
