Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking a Patient Access Representative to ensure a welcoming registration experience and to handle payments, insurance verification, and scheduling across electronic, phone, or in-person channels.

In a fast-paced, team-driven environment, you will protect patient information, assist with Kiosk check-in, and coordinate with clinical departments to guide patients through financial counseling and enrollment steps.

Qualifications

• Education: High school degree or equivalent; Associate’s degree preferred.
• Experience: 1-3 years related work experience and proficient with computer systems, including web-based applications and MS Office.
• Skills: Strong multitasking ability, accurate electronic data processing, and effective communication.

Responsibilities

• Registers patients for visits and explains the registration process.
• Processes payments (co-pays/coinsurance/deductibles) and reconciles cash drawer daily.
• Completes Medicare Secondary Payer questionnaires and adjusts coverage as needed.
• Obtains signatures on consent and financial forms; scans and records documents.
• Counsels patients on non-covered services and ABNs; maintains confidentiality.
• Schedules, reschedules, and cancels appointments; verifies insurance and demographics.
• Ensures patient waiting areas are organized and monitors for safety.
