Job summary

St. Luke’s University Health Network is seeking a Part-time Patient Access Representative to manage patient registration for outpatient and Emergency Department locations. The role covers demographics, insurance verification, eligibility, and cash collections at the point of service.

You’ll cross-train across locations, greet patients, and support MyChart self-service. Familiarity with EPIC and strong customer service are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Certificate/degree in health care related field preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
• Insurance background preferred.
• EPIC knowledge preferred.

Responsibilities

• Identify/validate patient selection in hospital information system to ensure EMR accuracy.
• Maintain knowledge of network policy on patient identification and chart integrity.
• Handle patient registration including demographics, diagnoses, insurance verification, and real-time eligibility.
• Cross-train in all areas of location and department.
• Greet patients/visitors and provide courteous service; enforce visitor policy if applicable.
• Answer calls on main department line and provide facility information.
• Promote MyChart patient portal and self-service to engage patients in care.
• Assist with Welcome Kiosk and On My Way technology to manage patient arrivals.
• Coordinate with SLPG or Network Prior Authorization to obtain referrals and pre-certifications when needed.
• Obtain medical license number, NPI and UPIN for new provider entries to ensure proper routing.
