The position requires high school completion and strong customer service.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent required.
• Certificate/Degree in health care related field preferred.
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills required.
• Insurance background preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
• Previous medical administrative experience and/or health care related education courses preferred.
• Knowledge of health information system (Epic) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Identify and register patients accurately for outpatient and ED visits.
• Verify insurance eligibility and collect point-of-service payments.
• Enter diagnoses, provider information and other registration data.
• Coordinate with practices and revenue cycle departments to ensure smooth patient flow.
• Greet patients and visitors and provide courteous service.
• Promote MyChart and patient self-service tools to enhance engagement.
• Assist with Welcome Kiosk and On My Way workflow.
