Mercy seeks a Patient Access Representative to be the first point of contact for patients, delivering compassionate service and upholding Mercy Service Standards. This role involves facilitating scheduling, registration, benefit verification, pre-certification and financial clearance with rigorous attention to accuracy.

Ideal candidates have 1–3 years in clerical/customer service roles, familiarity with medical terminology and insurance plans, and a HS diploma (some college preferred).

Qualifications

• Excellent telephone etiquette and clear written communication.
• Ability to establish positive relationships with patients, physicians and insurers.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work under stress and meet deadlines with accuracy.
• Familiarity with insurance carriers and Medicare guidelines.

Responsabilités

• Facilitate patient entrance: scheduling, registration, benefit verification and pre-certification.
• Handle financial clearance and pre-visit collections where needed.
• Ensure accurate patient data is entered into records and maintained.
• Communicate with insurers and hospital staff to coordinate care and follow procedures.
