Job summary

Mercy seeks a Patient Access Representative to be the first point of contact for patients, ensuring compassionate service and accurate data capture. Responsibilities include scheduling, registration, verification of benefits, pre-certification, and financial clearance across Mercy facilities.

Qualifications

• High-school diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to complete financial clearance (Mercy payment plan, EPPC, bad debt resolution, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Facilitate patient entry into Mercy facilities, including scheduling, registration, benefit verification, pre-certification and financial clearance.
• Ensure the most accurate patient data is obtained and populated in the patient record.
• Mentor fellow Patient Access co-workers and maintain knowledge of insurance carriers, Medicare guidelines, and accreditation requirements.
