Job summary

Mercy is seeking a Patient Access Representative who will be the first contact for patients, delivering compassionate service and representing Mercy's mission. You will handle scheduling, registration, benefit verification, pre-certification and financial clearance, while ensuring accurate data entry and staying current with insurance guidelines.

As a frontline team member, you will maintain professionalism, work with various hospital staff, and support patients through the admission process

Qualifications

• 1–3 years clerical and customer service experience preferred.
• Experience with medical terminology and insurance plans preferred.
• High school diploma required; some college helpful.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate patient entrance including scheduling, registration and pre-certification.
• Verify benefits and obtain financial clearance and pre-visit collection.
• Maintain accurate patient data in records and explain insurance processes.
