Job summary

Mercy seeks a Patient Access Representative to be the first point of contact, delivering exceptional service aligned with Mercy mission and standards.

The role facilitates all components of patient entry, including scheduling, registration, benefit verification, pre-certification and financial clearance, with pre-visit collection. It requires meticulous data accuracy and familiarity with insurance carriers, Medicare guidelines and compliance rules.

Qualifications

• Experience with clerical work and customer service preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance plans preferred.
• High School diploma required; some college helpful.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate the patient's entrance into Mercy facilities, including scheduling and registration.
• Perform benefit verification, pre-certification and financial clearance including pre-visit collection.
• Ensure accurate patient data and maintain knowledge of insurance carriers and guidelines.
