Job summary

Mercy is seeking a Patient Access Representative to be the first point of contact for patients, delivering compassionate service and accurate data entry. You will handle scheduling, registration, benefit verification, pre-certification and financial clearance, ensuring smooth entry into Mercy facilities.

The role requires 1–3 years of clerical and customer service experience, knowledge of medical terminology and insurance plans, and a high school diploma (some college helpful).

Qualifications

• 1–3 years clerical experience and customer service preferred.
• Experience with medical terminology and insurance plans preferred.
• High School diploma required; some college helpful.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate all components of the patient's entrance into Mercy facilities.
• Handle scheduling, registration, benefit verification, pre-certification and financial clearance.
• Ensure most accurate patient data is obtained and populated into the patient record.
• Maintain knowledge of insurance carriers, Medicare guidelines and regulatory agencies.
