Job summary

Mercy is seeking a Patient Access Representative to be the first point of contact for patients, delivering the highest standard of customer service in line with Mercy's mission and Service Standards.

You will assist with scheduling, registration, benefit verification, pre-certification and financial clearance, and ensure accurate data in the patient record while maintaining attention to detail and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing; excellent telephone etiquette.
• Establish and maintain positive relationships with patients, physicians, and staff.
• Strong organizational skills with high accuracy and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate patient entrance into Mercy facilities, including scheduling and registration.
• Verify benefits, manage pre-certification and financial clearance processes.
• Ensure accurate patient data entry and record documentation.
• Maintain knowledge of insurance carriers, Medicare guidelines and regulatory standards.
