Job summary

Virginia Mason Franciscan Health is seeking a Patient Access Representative to manage administrative duties in the patient intake process. You will interact with patients in person and by phone to check in/out, collect data and payments, verify insurance, schedule appointments, and process referrals and authorizations.

The role requires strong customer service, knowledge of insurance and medical terminology, and the ability to resolve problems while maintaining a high-quality patient experience.

Qualifications

• 1 year of customer service experience is required.
• 2 years of customer service experience preferred.
• Healthcare or Call Center experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Registers and/or checks patients in/out.
• Performs patient check-in at the time of visit; records and verifies demographic, insurance and other information; follows procedures to ensure registration requirements are satisfied.
• Conducts routine insurance eligibility verifications.
• Copies/scans patient access related materials into the electronic medical record.
• Records non-clinical charges from various sources and may enter charges for forms, deposits or other fees.
• Handles and reconciles payments.
