• Assure all check-in procedures are completed; monitor patient wait times and communicate changes.
• Read and interpret insurance responses to properly assign primary/secondary/tertiary coverage.
• Ensure patients receive disclosures and privacy information; secure necessary signatures.
• Explain financial obligations and collect fees at time of service.
• Complete regulatory forms with patients when required.
• Schedule follow-up appointments and referrals as needed.
• Process multi-channel messages regarding appointments, referrals, prescriptions, and complaints.
• Notify patients/guarantors of anticipated financial responsibility and collect copays, deductibles, or coinsurances.
• Perform cash posting following department guidelines.
• Work in queues to resolve accounts timely; maintain productivity and quality standards.
• Accurately perform medical record maintenance and releases.
• Assist with referrals and pre-certifications at the time of encounter.
• Utilize and maintain patient recall and reschedule lists.
