Job summary

Geisinger Primary Care Pottsville is seeking a frontline patient services specialist to greet, register and assist patients at check-in and check-out, and schedule follow-ups as needed.

You will verify demographics, read insurance responses, collect payments, and support regulatory forms, while maintaining privacy and delivering excellent customer service in a busy office environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 1 year related work experience preferred.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Check in patients for appointments and verify demographics.
• Monitor patient wait times and communicate changes to patients.
• Read and interpret insurance responses and assign coverage accordingly.
• Explain financial obligations and collect payments at time of service.
• Complete regulatory forms and maintain patient privacy and confidentiality.
• Schedule follow-up appointments and coordinate referrals as needed.
