Job summary

Geisinger is seeking an experienced front desk and patient service representative to provide frontline support in a busy department. You will greet patients, verify demographics, process registrations, and assist with scheduling while upholding privacy and accuracy standards.

The role also involves handling insurance questions, collecting payments, and coordinating referrals and follow-ups to ensure smooth patient flow and adherence to regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of 1 year related work experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Check patients in for appointments and verify demographics.
• Monitor patient wait times and communicate changes to the patient.
• Assist with insurance verification and patient financial communications.
• Schedule follow-up appointments including specialty or ancillary services.
• Process multi-channel messages related to appointments, referrals, prescriptions, and complaints.
• Post cash and manage accounts receivable following department guidelines.
• Maintain patient records and assist with referrals and pre-certifications.
