Job summary

WellSpan Health in York, PA seeks a patient access clerk to support inpatient admissions, registration, patient arrival, and Welcome Kiosk tasks. You will interview patients, collect demographic and financial information, verify insurance, and prepare admitting forms with a friendly, service-focused approach.

PRN, varied shifts. You will assist with cashiering, deposits, and billing-related tasks while maintaining accurate records and delivering excellent customer service to every visitor.

Qualifications

• Minimum education: High School Diploma or GED.
• Less than 1 year of related work experience.
• Training in in-house registration procedures and medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Conduct patient interview to collect financial, biographic and demographic data for admission or registration.
• Explain financial requirements and collect deposits or deductibles as needed.
• Prepare pre-admission and admitting forms and facilitate room transfers.
• Verify insurance coverage and eligibility; coordinate precertification when applicable.
• Assist with self-registration and Welcome Kiosk tasks; issue receipts.
• Maintain accurate records of patient charges and department census statistics.
