Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; medical terminology course a plus.
• Experience in customer service and receptionist duties.
• Typing speed 45 wpm; accurate data entry.
• Knowledge of insurance processes and verification helpful.

Responsibilities

• Interview patients to collect demographic and insurance information for services.
• Provide patient estimates and explain benefits to patients/guarantors.
• Collect payments for out-of-pocket expenses and ED copays.
• Verify insurance requirements and obtain authorizations/referrals as needed.
• Answer switchboard calls promptly and route them as requested.
• Follow EPIC Insurance Manual procedures and use insurance verification software.
• Assist patients with the welcome device and portal-related tasks.
