Job summary

WellSpan Health is seeking a patient access representative to support inpatient admissions, registration, and cashiering. You will greet patients, collect accurate biographical and financial information, prepare admitting forms, and assist with welcome kiosks and self-service tools.

This full-time role runs Monday–Friday 7:00 AM–3:30 PM with rotating weekends and holidays. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential to ensure smooth patient flow and accurate billing and insurance

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Less than 1 year experience (3–6 months) required.
• 6–8 week in-house registration procedures and medical terminology courses upon hire.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Conducts patient interview to collect accurate financial, biographic and demographic information for admission or registration.
• Explains financial requirements and collects deposits or deductibles; explains insurance coverage and precertification/preauthorization as applicable.
• Prepares pre-admission and admitting forms, facilitates room transfers, prepares admitting and discharge reports.
• Reviews pre-arrival and admission information to verify insurance coverage and eligibility.
• Receives payments from patients and issues receipts; assists with overpayments and accounts research as needed.
• Reconciles daily cash and verifies account balances.
