Job summary

MyMichigan Health is seeking a compassionate Front Desk / Patient Service Assistant to provide clerical and receptionist support for the practice. You will greet patients, verify insurance, schedule appointments and register new patients while maintaining accurate records and strong customer service.

The role requires attention to detail, ability to balance cash, process referrals, and coordinate with clinical staff to ensure smooth patient flow throughout the day.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required; Associates degree preferred.
• Two years of experience in a medical office or similar setting.
• Knowledge of reading, writing, mathematics and computer skills.
• Interpersonal and clear communication abilities are essential.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and welcome families; answer phones and schedule appointments.
• Verify insurance information, collect payments and register patients.
• Coordinate patient flow between front office, clinical staff and providers.
• Explain policies, manage no-shows and financial procedures.
• Process referrals and authorizations as needed; post payments and maintain records.
• Open/close office; file, scan documents and maintain the patient record.
