Job summary

MyMichigan Health is seeking a Patient Services Assistant to provide front-line clerical and receptionist support for the practice. You will greet patients, answer calls, register patients, verify insurance, collect payments and schedule tests or referrals as needed.

As the first point of contact, you will coordinate with front office, clinical staff and providers, maintain HIPAA compliance, and help ensure a smooth patient flow while delivering courteous, professional service to a diverse

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
• Must have basic reading, writing, math, and computer skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
• Ability to work in a diverse patient population.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients, answer calls and assist with scheduling and registration.
• Verify insurance information and collect payments; process referrals as needed.
• Register new patients and explain policies; ensure HIPAA compliance.
• Schedule appointments and tests using practice management and EMR systems.
• Coordinate with front office, clinical staff and providers to maintain patient flow.
• Maintain and file patient records; prepare documents and open/close procedures.
