Job summary

Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston seeks a Practice Coordinator II to deliver superior patient-centered service at check-in/out, collect demographics and insurance information, and guide patients through the Cancer Center.

You will handle multi-step scheduling, coordinate care with providers, and use Meditech and hospital systems, while maintaining accurate records and responding to non-clinical questions.

Qualifications

• Associates degree; 3 years of equivalent experience may substitute for a degree.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 3 years of experience working in a medical or customer service setting.
• Knowledge of medical terminology required.

Responsibilities

• Provide appointment scheduling ranging from single physician visits to multiple care providers in line with scheduling guidelines.
• Perform front desk check-in and check-out; assist with patient flow and information collection.
• Obtain detailed clinical information face-to-face, by phone or electronically.
• Provide basic information regarding insurance referrals and eligibility checks.
• Navigate patient questions and coordinate care with main campus and other centers.
• Enter data into patient care related databases and prepare complex documents as needed.
