Job summary

Sanford Health in Worthington, MN is seeking a Patient Access Representative to deliver exceptional patient service at the first point of contact, on the phone or in clinic. You will create a welcoming, safe environment and support registration, scheduling, and financial responsibilities.

Responsibilities include greeting patients, collecting payments, coordinating referrals and pre-authorizations, and operating a multi-line phone system.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• One year of work experience, preferably in a medical office setting.
• Medical terminology helpful; customer service skills essential.
• May require BLS for certain locations and/or settings.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and verify demographics.
• Create, scan and route documents or electronic forms.
• Inform patients about documents and capture signatures as needed.
• Establish and assign financial responsibility and assist with arrangements per policies.
• Collect co-payments, pre-payments, and payments on account balances.
• Address registration work queue issues; resolve registration errors or denied claims.
• Coordinate appointments with nursing team and providers to meet patient needs.
