Job summary

Sanford Health Wahpeton Clinic in Wahpeton, ND is seeking a Patient Access Representative to deliver exceptional patient service at the first point of contact, whether on the phone or in clinic, creating a welcoming and accurate registration experience.

Responsibilities include greeting patients, collecting demographics, handling payments, coordinating referrals and pre-authorizations, and supporting telemedicine and recall processes, with prior medical office experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• One year of work experience, preferably in a medical office setting.
• Medical terminology helpful; customer service skills essential.
• Six months' customer service experience desired.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and verify demographics.
• Create, scan, and route documents or electronic forms.
• Inform patients about documents and capture signatures.
• Establish financial responsibility and assist with arrangements.
• Collect co-payments, pre-payments, and payments on account balances.
• Coordinate scheduling with nursing team and providers.
• Arrange referrals and pre-authorization; interpreter services as needed.
• Check patients in/out and operate multi-line phone.
• Manage recall, waitlists, and phone paging as required.
• Prepare and coordinate charts; support patient financial assistance.
