Responsibilities

• Greet patients in person or by phone and update insurance/demographics in the practice management system.
• Verify insurance coverage and ensure physician accepts the patient’s insurance at or before visit.
• Inform staff of patient arrival and ensure medical records are available for the physician.
• Process HIPAA-related paperwork and other institutional forms as necessary.
• Collect referrals or insurance authorizations as required.
• Monitor waiting room status and communicate wait times to patients.
