Ochsner LSU Health is seeking a patient access professional to greet patients, schedule appointments, and complete check-in/admission processes. You will verify demographics, insurance, and collect payments while ensuring privacy and compliance in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

The role requires strong data entry, communication, and organizational skills, with experience in hospital or clinic settings preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1 year hospital or patient-facing experience required.
• Healthcare access certifications preferred (CHAM/CHAA/MA)

Responsabilités

• Provide excellent customer service to patients and guests.
• Create, activate, and complete patient scheduling, clinic registration, or hospital admission process.
• Verify insurance and collect co-pays, deductibles and self-pay portions due.
• Efficiently gather and input patient/guarantor demographic and financial information.
• Explain insurance benefits and inform patient of financial responsibility.
• Balance cash drawer daily and close out at end of shift.
• Maintain professionalism and confidentiality in all interactions.
• Collaborate with other departments as needed.
• Adhere to compliance and privacy standards.
