Job summary

Ochsner Health System is seeking a Patient Access representative to greet patients, schedule appointments, and register at the point of service. The role includes verifying insurance, collecting co-pays, and inputting demographic information to ensure accurate medical records and reimbursement.

Strong communication and clerical skills are essential. Candidates should have a high school diploma (associate degree preferred) and at least 1 year of relevant hospital/clinic experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; Associate’s degree preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in hospital, clinic, medical office, or customer service-related environment.
• Certifications in Healthcare Access Manager (CHAM), Healthcare Access Associate (CHAA), or Medical Assistant preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service to patients and guests.
• Create, activate, and complete scheduling, clinic registration, or hospital admission processes.
• Input patient/guarantor demographics and financial information; explain benefits and collect payments.
• Balance cash drawer daily and complete end-of-shift procedures.
• Ensure privacy, adhere to billing regulations, and collaborate with other departments.
